Are you looking for 100% Arabica with no additives or blending? Try our Single Origin Typica. This is a Washed processed coffee, here in a convenient pack of 10 pre-filled single serve filters. Open filter out to sit on top of mug and add 200ml of boiling water. Provides pourover quality of our premium Typica Arabica coffee. Perfect for everyday use, but also great to take travelling when it can be difficult to find a decent arabica coffee.

We roast multiple times weekly, and typically grind the coffee and fill the filter satchels on order, so you are getting fresh ground coffee 100%, no additives coffee (which can also be stored well for up to 2 months).

This coffee is roasted medium light. It is not a typical tasting local coffee; surprisingly clean tasting with a medium body and light acidity. It has notes of milk chocolate, nuts and spice with a fragrant finish. Using the filter principally provides a drip America, allowing for addition of fresh milk and sugar to taste.

Typica is a rare variety in Vietnam. It is a South-Western Ethiopian originating coffee, with a history dating back to the 1500’s. It was brought into Vietnam in the 1900’s by the French, and is predominantly grown in the Central Highlands.

More detailed guide:

Tear open pouch from the notched edge and remove the filter

Pull the cup tabs out, pulling out and up from the bottom

Tear open the filter sachet along the marked line at top

Open out the filter pouch fully to form a mini birdsnest shape

Pull tabs apart from either side and slide down on to rim of cup

 

a. Simple method:

1 Gradually pour in up to about 200ml of boiling water, then remove and dispose of filter and grounds (or add to compost)

 

b. For a better cup:

1 Gently pour in 50 g of boiling water (best let kettle cool for 1 minute after boiling before adding) and let sit for 50 seconds for the coffee to absorb the liquid (bloom)

2 Add 150 g of water (in 3 stages of 50 g each)

3 As soon as the last water filters through, remove and dispose of filter and grounds (or add to compost).

4 Drink as soon as cool enough. With this variety of coffee, drink over a 20 minute cooling period and note the different flavours and aromas you can detect as it cools. Works best black hot or iced (but can add milk and sugar as desired).
